What Are the Warmest Cities in Arkansas?
In this article I’m going to share with you my ranking of the warmest places in Arkansas.
I created my list by researching data provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other climate data providers.
Below I’m listing the top 10 warmest places in Arkansas that have the highest average yearly temperatures. Later in the article I share a table with 50 most populous cities in Arkansas.
Top 10 Warmest Cities in Arkansas
Here are the top 10 warmest places in Arkansas ranked by their daily mean temperature. The average hottest temperature in the warmest city is up to 6 degrees higher than in the coldest one. This means much hotter summers but also milder winters.
For the top five cities I also give average winter and summer temperatures.
1. Crossett – daily mean temperature of 65.15 °F
Crossett, a town of about 5,000 people located in Southern Arkansas close to the border with Louisiana, is the warmest city in Arkansas. The climate gives Crossett mild winters and some of the hottest summers with the highest maximum temperature.
Weather data shows average temperatures of 57-62 °F during winter days and 34-37 °F at night. In the summer, it has a hot average daytime temperature between 92-95 °F. Nights don’t help cool off much. The average temperature is around 69-72 °F.

2. El Dorado – daily mean temperature of 64.15 °F
El Dorado, a city of 18,000 residents situated 45 miles west of Crossett, is the second hottest city in Arkansas. According to weather stations, its average annual temperature is a degree lower. Other than that, the two cities have a similar climate, with El Dorado getting slightly less precipitation.
Winter temperatures: highs of 56-60 °F, lows of 34-37 °F
Summer temperatures: highs of 91-94 °F, lows of 68-71 °F
3. Monticello – daily mean temperature of 64.05 °F
Monticello is a college town of 8,000 people, located 40 miles north of Crossett. It’s the third warmest city in the Natural State. It has slightly cooler but still mild winters. The summers feature average high temperatures about 2-3 degrees lower than in Crossett. Crossett still has some of the hottest summers in the state, with hot temperatures lasting between April and October. Monthly rainfall in Monticello is almost the same as in Crossett.

4. Dumas – daily mean temperature of 64.05 °F
Dumas is located 33 miles northeast of Monticello. Despite having the same annual temperature as Monticello, Dumas takes another step toward cooler weather conditions during the day. Its average high temperature year round can be about a degree lower than in Monticello.

Summer temperatures: highs of 90-92 °F, lows of 70-72 °F
5. Texarkana – daily mean temperature of 64 °F
Texarkana is the first biggest city in this ranking. Along with Texarkana, Texas and surrounding communities, it forms a metropolitan area where about 150,000 people live. Texarkana features a similar climate to Monticello. It’s slightly drier, though, and in the coldest month features nighttime temperatures higher by about a degree.

Summer temperatures: highs of 89-93 °F, lows of 69-72 °F
6. Stuttgart – daily mean temperature of 63.5 °F
The small town of Stuttgart lies 55 miles southeast of Little Rock. Its average high temperature in the winter is much colder than in the previous places, in the range between 51-56 °F compared to 54-58 °F in other cities. The average minimum temperature is higher, though, ranging from 35 °F to 38 °F. If you care about the warmest nights possible, then Stuttgart is your best option in this ranking.
7. Arkadelphia – daily mean temperature of 63.2 °F
Arkadelphia, located roughly halfway between Little Rock and Texarkana, offers some of the warmest days in this ranking. The trade-off is much colder nights in the coldest months. While the average maximum temperature in the winter reaches 55-59 °F, nights drop below freezing to 31-34 °F.
8. Nashville – daily mean temperature of 63.2 °F
Nashville is a small town of 4,000 residents in Southeastern Arkansas, 49 miles northeast of Texarkana. The town has mild winters and hot summers with average high temperatures between 89-94 °F.
9. Pine Bluff – daily mean temperature of 63.15 °F
Pine Bluff lies 45 miles south of Little Rock. With a population of 41,000 people, it’s one of the biggest cities in Arkansas. Pine Bluff has cooler winters with average maximum temperatures of 52-56 °F. Minimum temperatures in the city don’t drop as much, though, and stay on average around 33-36 °F.
10. Ashdown – daily mean temperature of 62.9 °F
Ashdown is the tenth warmest city in Arkansas. It’s situated 20 miles north of Texarkana, close to Millwood Lake. This small town has similar daytime temperatures to Texarkana, with colder nights throughout the year. The average annual temperature of Ashdown is over 2 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than in the warmest city of the state.
